About this event

The North Carolina Autocross Championship (NCAC) is a joint venture between 5 autocross clubs in North Carolina, with hosting duties rotating among the member clubs. This year the event will be hosted by Highlands Sports Car Club (HSCC). In addition to competing in their individual classes, drivers will also be representing their home club in the NCAC Club Cup, with the winning club taking home the trophy for the next 12 months. This event is open to any licensed driver (and kart drivers with proper documentation) regardless of their membership status in any individual club.

Gates Open:
7:00 am

Registration/Check-In: 8:00 - 9:30 am

Tech Inspection:
8:00 - 9:30 am

Novice Walkthrough: 9:15 am

Driver's Meeting: 9:45 am

First Vehicle Off: 10:15 am

Depending on the number of participants, we may have 2 run groups or we may have 3 run groups. This will determine the times at which we will have a lunch break.

Tech Inspection: We will honor the annual tech program of any member club. Anyone not possessing a valid Annual Tech sticker must have their car inspected by our Tech crew.

Novices: For anyone new to the sport of autocross, we ask that you take a detailed look at our Novice Guide.

Club Cup: This year's Club Cup winner will be determined by combining the 10 fastest PAX time for each club.

Class Trophies: In addition to the Club Cup, there will be trophies for individual classes. The ceremony will commence after the final runs and cleanup on Sunday afternoon.

T-Shirts: Every participant will get a t-shirt!

Saturday Night Social: There will be a gathering at Lazy Hiker Brewing (188 W Main St, Franklin, NC 28734) at 6pm on Saturday night.

Paddock Location: Cars will paddock outside the site gates. Maps will be posted prior to the event.

Grid: Because of the size of the site, there is a rolling grid. There will be areas to stop to cool down cars and spray tires prior to getting back into the grid line.

We will be organizing a drive on Friday afternoon around local mountain roads. Stay tuned for details.

Event requirements

Insurance Liability Waiver: Everyone, including any passengers or spectators, must sign the insurance waiver. Basically, this applies to anyone on the property for the duration of the event. No exceptions.

Minimum Age Requirements: Drivers must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid, full driver's license (provisional licenses are not acceptable). Kart drivers must be at least 5 years old. Any driver under the age of 18 must also have a minor waiver on file with HSCC management. This waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian in the presence of an HSCC officer. Passengers are permitted in the front seat only and they must meet the same requirements as drivers.

Proper car numbers are MANDATORY. For our events to run smoothly it is essential that we be able to properly identify all vehicles at a glance. If you do not yet have magnetic numbers, you may print your own and tape them to your car.
